Marc Trabys

Marc Trabys, born in 1952, is a French painter based in Saint-Cyprien, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. A recognized figure in contemporary abstract painting, he has developed a body of work for over forty years where matter, gesture, and color become the vectors of a deep reflection on the inner landscape and memory. His work is part of the tradition of lyric abstraction, while enriching itself with influences from abstract expressionism and a constant dialogue between spontaneity and technical mastery. His compositions, mainly executed in oil on canvas, explore the notions of chaos, balance, and light through a free gesture and generous material, making each work a space for contemplation and emotion.
