Bronze Sculpture for Sale
Solenne Jolivet is a textile artist and craftswoman based in Aubervilliers (North Paris). Embroidering since the age of 11, she has been fully dedicated to developing a craft and artistic career since 2017. Her works use thread as a pigment and thus reference the work of engraving, painting and sculpture.
Alongside her freelance embroidery work for Haute Couture
A seamstress for 8 years, Solenne Jolivet has been committed from the start to
to develop an embroidery freed from the figurative, and which would use
the thread as a pigment through developed techniques and
selected over the years such as the filming
of threads, the embroidery compressed under glass, and by diverting the use
using a Lunéville hook to use it like a pencil or a paintbrush.
His goal with the wire-turning technique is, for example
to re-examine the notion of textile surface, thus creating a material
singular without known technique, tool or machine.
Fascinated by universal textile heritage and the fact that the needle,
Although the tool invented 18,000 years ago was a form of emancipation for both men and women, she recalls that textile arts were long confined to the realm of domestic and home arts, and therefore to the feminine.
Solenne Jolivet thus develops techniques which on the one hand call for a liberation and emancipation of feminine energy, and on the other hand question the notion of imaginary places, of the macrocosm and the microcosm, of the journey that one has not yet experienced or of the sky that one imagines, grasping the fact that the artist is granted the full right to evoke, report and illustrate what he has not seen in the world.
