Bertille Argueyrolles

France • 1980

Her current series, "Traces and Imprints", questions the memory of movement; it deploys a visual language where black and white becomes the terrain for a search for appeasement.

Biography

Artist, painter and visual artist, Bertille Argueyrolles explores the poetics of immediacy through a practice centered on gesture and the irreversibility of time.

Her approach is rooted in the spirit of sumi-e, the ancestral art of Japanese ink, from which she retains the essence: the quest for balance, the mastery of breath and the spiritual value of the line.

Her current series, "Traces and Imprints," explores the memory of movement; it deploys a visual language where black and white becomes the terrain for a search for appeasement. Through plays of layers, erasures, and repetitions, her canvases capture resonances that oscillate between mechanical tension and contemplative silence.
