Clément Ogiela

A graduate of a graphic arts school, Clément Ogiela worked for more than fifteen years as a textile designer before devoting himself fully to painting.

His experience with pattern and color informs an approach where material, texture, and visual rhythm intertwine. Based in Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, on the banks of the Loire, he has developed a practice rooted in experimentation and the dialogue between mediums. His work, at once graphic, colorful, and instinctive, draws inspiration from the world of graffiti, 90s cartoons, and hip-hop culture, whose energy and freedom he captures. Clément Ogiela champions a playful and spontaneous approach to painting, where gesture, repetition, and imperfection become driving forces of expression. His works emerge from a continuous process of exploration: superimpositions, transparencies, accumulations of lines, and rhythmic plays compose canvases where accidents, balances, and ruptures intertwine. Between abstraction and visual storytelling, he explores the boundary between controlled gesture and chance, seeking to rediscover the sincerity and freshness of children's drawing.

Through the multiplicity of techniques and media used, Clément Ogiela offers the viewer a unique visual language, imbued with freedom, movement and curiosity.
