Biography
Mathilde Sauce is a ceramic artist trained at the ENSA in Limoges and at the Maison de la Céramique du Pays de Dieulefit. Having settled in Limousin after completing her studies, she develops a unique sculptural universe inspired by living things, where ceramics seem to lose their rigidity in favor of organic, fluid, and sensual forms.
From the moment she opened her studio in 2019, her work has distinguished itself with an immediately recognizable artistic style. Her sculptures were quickly exhibited in numerous venues in France and internationally, and are now widely circulated within the contemporary ceramics and art scene. Key milestones in her career include the Château d'Eau – Château d'Art in Bourges (2021), the MO.CO Panacée in Montpellier (2022), the Musée de Carouge in Switzerland (2024), and her solo exhibition, Cœur de pierre, at the Centre céramique contemporaine de La Borne in 2025. In the Limousin region, the Musée Cécile Sabourdy contributed to her recognition starting in 2022, followed by the Musée du Four des Casseaux in Limoges in the summer of 2023.
Winner of the 2026 Young Talent in Craftsmanship Award from Ateliers d'Art de France, she will present her work next year at the Révélations Biennale at the Grand Palais in Paris. She has also been invited in October 2026 to install a monumental sculpture in the Jardin de l'Amérique Latine in Paris, as part of the Ceramic Art Fair.
