Biography

Visual artist Odile Guichard has developed a unique technique that allows her to give form to her paintings. She makes her animal portraits or representations of emblematic everyday objects spring from the canvas, associating them with threads that create the relief of her creations.
An extension of feathers, fur, or fabric, among other materials, thread, combined with paint, becomes a new artistic language. It comes alive in arabesques, twists joyfully, bristles in all directions, stretches or languishes to tell a story, bring out a personality, give a soul to a forgotten piece of furniture.
The thread, for each painting, is also, in its watermark, the thread of passing time and the thread that connects. A unique three-dimensional experience.
Odile Guichard lives and works in Rochefort.
