Riks

The artist Riks was born in 1982 in Paris where he currently lives. He became interested in the culture of graffiti in 1996 and began to create his own colorful and old-school lettering, respectful of classic New York techniques. It was in the 2000s that he approached other techniques such as stenciling and collage. He founded with Romano and Tiez the urban art collective “LeMouvement”. Together, they invite a step towards the celebration of diversity and advocate, through works such as “Umbrellas”, the richness of social diversity. This work, combining realism and poetry, captures moments of sharing between Parisian couples, linked by their dissimilarities, united under an umbrella. These photographic collages are displayed in the street to create a link between the subjects and the passers-by.
