Bronze Sculpture for Sale
Born in 1967 in Clermont-Ferrand, Fabienne Auzolle is a French ceramic artist and sculptor renowned for her glazed earthenware pieces, contemporary installations, and creations combining ceramics, textiles, metal, enamel, and precious materials. A graduate of the École du Louvre (undergraduate degree in 1989), and holding a Master's degree in Art History from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (1990), she continued her training at the Centre Artisanal de la Terre at the ENSAA Duperré in Paris, where she specialized in ceramic techniques. She furthered her education with two years at the Manufactures Nationales and numerous study trips, notably to Burkina Faso, Italy, Spain, Iran, South Korea, and Norway, which enriched her mastery of firing techniques, glazed earthenware, and artisanal traditions.
Since the mid-1990s, Fabienne Auzolle has developed a unique body of work within contemporary ceramics, where decorative arts, sculpture, installation, and fine crafts converge. Her world is populated by female figures, goddesses, virgins, trees of life, flowers, shells, and plant forms that evoke myths, rituals, and tales, as well as symbols of fertility and rebirth. Her sculptures combine clay, glazes, textiles, beads, threads, and sometimes antique jewelry, creating works where the sacred converses with the profane, the real with the imaginary.
His work draws its references from art history, particularly Byzantine icons, medieval Virgins, Art Nouveau, Baroque, 17th-century painting, the Pre-Raphaelites, as well as the folk arts of Mexico, Iran, China, and India. This rich iconography nourishes a refined aesthetic where each sculpture becomes an object of contemplation, imbued with spirituality and poetry. The artist claims an approach inspired by the notions of memory, transmission and wonder, transforming his works into veritable contemporary cabinets of curiosities.
Fabienne Auzolle has taught visual arts and ceramics at the Fontenay-sous-Bois Municipal School of Fine Arts since 1995. She also collaborates with director François Chat on several physical theatre productions and participates in educational projects at the Maison de la Musique in Nanterre. A member of the Ateliers d'Art de France, she has undertaken several artist residencies, notably in Stavanger, Norway (2009 and 2010) and Seoul, South Korea (2013), where she furthered her research on international ceramic techniques.
Her work has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions in France and abroad. Among the main ones are "Alchimia" at the INSULA Gallery in Paris (2017), an exhibition at the Bourgoin-Jallieu Museum (2016), Miaja Gallery in Singapore (2016), "Tree of Life" at the Lefor Openo Gallery in Paris (2013), the Malicorne-sur-Sarthe Earthenware Museum (2012), the La Piscine Museum in Roubaix (2014), Révélations – International Biennial of Crafts and Creation at the Grand Palais in Paris (2015 and 2019), Collect at the Saatchi Gallery in London (2015 and 2017), Maison & Objet in Singapore, Miami and New York, as well as presentations at the Lafayette Design Center in Shanghai, Osaka, Annecy, Lyon and Nantes. His works are now featured in numerous private collections in Europe, Asia, and North America.
Through her ceramic sculptures, wall installations, and monumental floral compositions, Fabienne Auzolle has established herself as a major figure in contemporary French ceramics. Her work, at the crossroads of crafts, contemporary sculpture, artistic heritage, and textile design, is celebrated for its symbolic richness, the finesse of its decoration, and its ability to reinvent ceramic traditions in a profoundly modern language.
