Nasty, born in 1975 in Paris, is an emblematic figure of the French graffiti movement. He began painting in the Paris metro in the late 1980s, quickly distinguishing himself with a colorful aesthetic and explosive lettering. In 1990, he joined the AEC (Artiste En Cavale) collective and established himself as one of the major players in the Parisian urban scene. From 1992 onwards, his works were presented in gallery exhibitions, notably alongside JonOne and Psyckoze , marking his entry into the contemporary urban art scene.
Recognized for his unique use of urban media, Nasty incorporates RATP enamel signs and authentic metro maps into his works, perpetuating the raw and authentic spirit of graffiti. These recycled media have become emblematic of his artistic approach, highlighting a deep attachment to public space as a canvas for expression.
