Jean-Paul Chambas is a contemporary French painter born March 11, 1947 in Vic-Fezensac (Gers). Studies of archeology and art history. In 1967 in Toulouse, he hung his real first exhibition, at the Notre Temps bookstore-gallery, Place Saint-Georges. In 1969 in Paris, he approached narrative figuration, then left France for Milan where he made his first series on Rimbaud. In 1971, he began his activity as a theater designer; activity that will take him to the Paris Opera. His first contribution in this field, at the National Theater in Strasbourg, was a set for Dimanche by Michel Deutsch, staged by Dominique Muller, then for Le Misanthrope in 1976, produced in collaboration with Jean-Pierre Vincent.
