Olivia de Bona

In 2005, Olivia de Bona, who was just graduated from her Applied Arts and Cinema Animation studies, met the artists of the 9eme concept. With this collective she took part in numerous projects and started a rich career working on commissions and personal pieces, in various media and techniques.

The universe of Olivia de Bona is somewhere between sensual tenderness, animal desire, sweetness and primal eroticism. Her body of work echoes our childhood images, she depicts forgotten stories. Her strange and elegant characters, like fantastic armies, become one with the decor, like in a dream. Her universe is direct and refined, we fly in the middle of nature, who plays with us.

Between cartoons we might remember from our childhood and fairy tales, the artist keeps us suspended between two worlds, between the sweetness of our memories and their darkest corners, where our deepest anxieties sleep.
