Biography

Laurent Schkolnyk was born on May 24, 1953 in Paris. While studying medicine, Laurent Schkolnyk attended the School of Fine Arts in Nantes from 1971 to 1978. In 1987, he opened an art gallery devoted to engraving in this city while continuing his artistic work. He first made black manners in black and white, then, from 1980, in colors using the trichromie. For this, he engraves three brass he draws on the same medium in primary yellow, magenta red and cyan blue. His favorite theme is still life.

He made his first exhibitions in Lyon, Canne and San Francisco in 1985, and then all over the world, in Canada, the USA, Japan, Korea, Australia... He was guest of honor in 2004 Paris Association Pointe et chisel, in 2009 at the Taylor Foundation in Paris and, in 2011, at the International Mezzotint Festival in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
