Biography
The graphic world of Karo Trass is in contrast. His faces are evoked in a minimalist way. Often in two or three colors, they are inscribed on a very two-dimensional background often composed of several stencils themselves sometimes reiterated in the same painting. As Marie Rouffet said: "Apposition. Repetition!" it is the soul of the stencil. Karo Trass enjoys using the stencil for what it is, a pattern reproduction tool. She draws her own patterns, thereby moving away from the photo from which she was inspired. This is why we immediately recognize his style as we surprise a stencil in the streets. His freedom of tone and composition, the obviously spontaneous aspect of his work allow him to reconnect with the playful and underground aspect of the stencil.
