Nicolas Favre was born in 1975. He lives and works in Troyes (France).
Who are the characters and families that he brings to life?
He is only obstetrician! With the ultimate strength of emotion, he kneads chaos and taught us about what we essentially are: beings of flesh, blood, joy and torments.
Their appearance of fallen nobility moves with us. However, they were noble only in dreams and respites that existence gave them. Therefore, the idea of decline has no reason to be. They are simply human beings facing this life. It brings them back inevitably to their condition.
They pose with this dignity which implicates any pose, but the confrontation with their crude presence indicates another dimension, astonishment to be there.
It is undoubtedly this tragic moment between two abysses that gives us wonderfully this artist.
