Aurélie Quentin

Born in 1984, Aurélie Quentin has been immersed in art since a young age. His father, painter and collector, passed on this passion to him very early on. It was at the age of 18 that she moved to Paris to study Architecture.

After one too many winter, she returns to Reunion and rediscovers the explosion of colors, the intensity of light, the richness of flavors, the sweetness of an island rhythm. Six months after returning to her native island, she suffered a serious accident. After close to death, she was immobilized for several months. This accident will change his relationship to life.
This convalescence allows her to paint and thus realize that she wants to make this passion for art, her life.

Throwing body and soul into painting was also giving up architecture, a certain comfort of life without the certainty of being able to find it again. Fueled by a certain view of society, some doubts will remain during the first year during which she devotes herself full time to painting.
But the enthusiasm generated by the presentation of his works in Paris, the first exhibition outside Reunion, will forever seal this choice of artist's life.

Aurélie Quentin's artistic creativity is not expressed only through painting. Active trombonist in a brass band, amateur pianist, she is also part of a multidisciplinary artist collective inspired by Afro-Punk culture.
His taste for music is an integral part of his artistic creativity and nourishes his pictorial work. Aurélie Quentin paints in music and it is not uncommon to find in the description of her works, a link to music which inspired the atmosphere of the work or guide the movements of her brush.

Captivated by the discovery of different cultures, her art evolves, shaped by the richness of her encounters and her landscapes. We also find the influence of his recent trip to Cuba and New Orleans in his latest works.
