Biography
Born in 1985, Julien Morel is a self-taught French artist. He works and lives in Saint-Etienne.
The artist began in the streets of Paris during the 2000's. He did graffiti, fresco and collage in several French towns before beginning to simultaneously work on canvases 2012 onwards. For this new medium, Julien Morel uses spray paint, acrylic and oil paints.
Female and masculine celebrity portraits are a recurring theme in his work. Bar code is his signature. But Julien Morel also addresses the theme of urban landscape in which he highlights the contrast between aesthetic beauty and violence in these living areas. Through the same approach, he creates works where the main subject is machine tool, in a still life manner.
