Presentation

After starting his career as an aeronautical engineer, he began to paint. In 1964, at the age of 28, he was bored in his profession and decided to embark on his future profession as a ceramicist. He works all types of land, but quickly specializes in those that are fired at high temperature, stoneware, porcelain. He experiments, invents, "discovers" the compositions of the rarest enamels. As a good engineer, he seeks to scientifically find the perfection of Asian ceramics. Thanks to his knowledge as a researcher and to a learned "cuisine" where he weighs and translates the molecular weights of crushed and pounded materials into grams, he finds colors and glazes unknown in contemporary ceramics and highly sought after by collectors. Very early on, he achieved feats both in terms of forms and enamels and, from the 1970s, exhibited in France and around the world. In 1976, he bought, in Biot, the workshop and oven of Roland Brice, who was Fernand Léger's ceramist, where he still works. It was there that he approached sculpture and became one of the rare ceramicists to move the lines and bring ceramics, often considered a minor art, to the status of contemporary art.
