He studied in the comics section of the Angoulême school. It was at this time that he started Secret Ninon in 1992 on a screenplay by Patrick Cothias. Six albums from this series will be published by Éditions Glénat. In 1998 and 1999, he collaborated with Pascal Rabaté for two works, Jacques a dit and Le jeu du foulard published by La charrette. In 2003, he produced with Étienne Davodeau the adaptation of Georges Brassens' novel, La tour des miracles. In 2006, he tackled the great texts of the French repertoire by illustrating La farce de maître Pathelin and J'entr'oubliay by François Villon. He also published the first part La Marie en Plastique with Pascal Rabaté at Éditions Futuropolis. In 2007, the second part of La Marie en Plastique was released by Editions Futuropolis. In 2010, the book Rebetiko was released by Futuropolis and won the Regards sur le monde prize at the Angoulême international comic book festival, the Read prize for the best comic strip of the year, the Ouest-France / Quai prize. des Bulles at the Saint-Malo comic and projected image festival, the prize for the best comic book adaptable to cinema at the International Cinema and Literature Forum in Monaco, the Best Foreign edition prize at the Comicdom festival in Athens. In 2012, David Prudhomme was awarded the prestigious International Prize of the City of Geneva, for his work La Traversée du Louvre. In 2015: Vive la marée appeared, with Pascal Rabaté, published by Futuropolis.
