Yarmila Vesovic

Born in Cetinje in 1954, she arrived in Paris receiving a grant from the French Government in 1986.

For the third decade, Jarmila Vesovic's painting has escaped the current and aggressively imposed influences of Western culture, cultivating subtle traces of traditional heritage, recognized in Byzantine and Mediterranean aesthetics.

Of course, this does not mean that Jarmila's painting is far removed from the artistic aspirations of Modernism. On the contrary, reduced almost to an abstract level, close to the informal poetics of the construction of an image, devoid of superfluous descriptions, it becomes a work in which this spiritual "frame", this initial impulse of creation, functions in a way. even more intense and convincing.

That is to say that Jarmila, inclined to his sensitivity, works on a kind of definition of the three-dimensionality of the image, but not in terms of physical concrete (deep frames, distance from the gallery wall), but in terms of space, lyrical and nectonic meditation.
