Biography

Joel Favreau spent eight years of his life to sailing the seas, the Gulf of Mexico to the Caribbean, from Norway to the Bay of Bengal.
At the age of 30, he decided to give up the anchor and devote himself to painting.

Under the pseudonym of Jo Le Marin, he gives old buoys and beacons a new life. His work allows him to move from nostalgia and go towards unusual joy. Since a few years now, he has become the key artist of the marine world.
Jo Le Marin is also an academician of Arts and Sciences of the Sea.

His work is often exhibited in Nantes, Honfleur, Ile de Ré, La Rochelle... He won the third prize in 2003 and the bronze medal at the Marine fair at Palais Chaillot, in Paris.
