Biography

The tribal Brazil of Otiniel Lins.

For him, the adventure began in Barreiros, in the state of Permanbuco, not far from Recife.

Since childhood Otiniel has imbibed the culture of the Indians of the Fulni-ô tribe. Impregnated with their culture, he learned their language, rooted in the depths of the country's history and endeavored to express it, to translate on the canvas the fascinating stripping, the emotional shock offered by this vision of man living in the almost primitive intimacy of nature. It naturally uses their graphic signs of communication and represents the actions of their daily life.

Primitive in its form, contemporary in the image it sends back to us of our own history in the depths of time, Otiniel Lins' painting possesses an obsessive force through the purity and mystery it releases.

- Jean Jacques Lucan.
