Biography

Sylvie Adaoust was born in Toulouse in 1958. Hardly fifteen she began painting with gouache and drew inspiration from great masters. While she was at Beaux Arts, Toulon, one of her professors noticed that she wasn't made for training but for the professional path. She stopped painting for years. Then, thirteen years ago she opened a gallery in Sanary sur Mer. Quickly, she made a living out of her art and devoted herself to this completely.

Her acrylic paintings depict women, children and flowers. Their common point being movement and red. This color is well explored in each of her paintings and through multiple shades. Red adorns faceless women and hints of it are also found in the artist's landscapes. The artist's style is unique, she in fact develops this uniqueness while representing full-bodied and sensual women, in long dresses with drapes.
