Presentation

Joséphine Vallé Franceschi is French, of Corsican origin. She lives and works in Paris.

After her years of hypokhâgne and khâgne, she obtained her master's degree in literature and then graduated in 2015 with a master's degree in film production from the Sorbonne.

Through her photographs, she wishes to summon the nostalgia left by travel memories. Thanks to her silver overprints, she makes dreams, proposals for the imagination, stories that are not frozen.

Her photographs are borrowed from her taste for cinema. She directed her first short film Amiante in 2013 and assisted in 2015, Elie Wajeman in the direction of his film Les Anarchistes. She is also a script reader for the CNC and France 2 cinema until 2018. Her work as a photographer is spotted by the Academy of César to realize the poster of the festival Les Nuits en Or (César 2017).

We recognize in her photographs the colors of Italy, where she lived between 2011 and 2013 as part of the organization of the Rendez-Vous Cinema Unifrance - Palazzo Farnese - Villa Medici. Her photographs received first prizes in the competitions "Italy in a snapshot" and "Les Echos" organized by Sciences Po, Paris.

Joséphine is inspired by the landscapes of Antonioni's American period, the pastel dresses of Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, the vanilla scent of warm sand, Cécile's tanned complexion in Bonjour Tristesse, Hockney's swimming pools or even the memory of the next summer.
