Presentation

Born in 1952 in France. Lives and works in Dublin, Ireland

Graduated from the Beaux-Arts of Clermont Ferrand in 1974, Fabriano exhibited regularly in France and the United States from the early 1980s. Rapidly recognised and collected, he created sets for television, notably for Le Grand Echiquier. These are exhibitions in Chicago in 1989, then in 1990 in Miami, that gave him the desire to travel around the United States and to discover cities that had made him dream since his adolescence, such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Palm Springs, and the Californian desert. From these trips was born his passion for mythical cars, embodying a certain idea of freedom and the American dream.

In 1991, he left for Japan where he will have numerous solo exhibitions until 2015. He will also spend long periods there, immersing himself in the culture and traditions of the country.

Now living in Ireland, Fabriano remembers his American years, his taste for the gleaming bodies of Cadillac, Ford, and Chevrolet, le Mans 24-hours race or the Monaco Grand Prix, that he never ceased to follow. European cars such as Ferrari, Maserati or Porsche have joined his Pantheon and he dedicates his latest series of works to them. Painted in oil and acrylic on canvas, they pay homage to the sunny landscapes of California and to the elegant lines of these cars whose names sound like a sweet melody to car lovers.  The simple reflection of a palm tree on the metal sheet is enough to set the scene and our imagination runs wild...
