Presentation

Figurative painter, Justine Lemaire seeks to transcribe on her canvases what strikes her in reality. She mainly uses oil painting for the realization of her works. When choosing her subjects, she endeavors to perceive and analyze its plastic characteristics: carrying out several preparatory studies using sketches and small oils on paper. This work allows him to determine the dynamics, values and color harmonies present on the subject.

She then selects the reasons for which it seems interesting to consider a more ambitious format. She then adapts this format to her bias. Justine does not think much or little about her paintings, but rather organizes her work thanks to a broad reflection and a panel of directions envisaged upstream. On the other hand, she leaves room for her intuitions, spontaneous choices, all these small manifestations which make the whole vibrant.

Justine spends a lot of time frequenting the world of painting in general, whether it is photographic reproductions, works by Masters or works by contemporary artists, thus drawing her eye to the observation of elaborate compositions. The artist also practices painting directly on the motif, whether it is outdoors or live models. If she does not have her equipment at hand, Justine makes sketches or takes notes in order to be able to immortalize her perceptions and recapture them in the workshop.

Justine Lemaire did not encounter painting until late in its existence. A wise artist will then advise him to push his work by recommending a drawing and painting teacher. Justine has been painting for 2 and a half years now and she has been taking classes for 3 hours a week for 2 years, also studying artistic anatomy.
