Presentation
Valérie de Sarrieu is a painter who lives and works near Saint-Gaudens. For six years, she dedicated herself to the restoration of mural paintings of French monuments, notably: the cathedrals of Cahors and Albi. She has a degree in art history and attended the 4th and 5th year of the Beaux-arts de Toulouse. She completed her training in the 1990s with Robert Thon and Maurice Mélat. Today, she works essentially on the painting known as "on the motif". She sums up her approach as follows: "to work on the reception, the receptivity of the place, of the instantaneous light and its simplest and most accurate restitution possible".
The painting can then be nourished by the song of the bird present in the moment, like the oriole with its brief and distant accents... of this pacifying and happy communion with nature.
She paints oils on paper, which she maroons on wood or cardboard.
