“I am Jean-Baptiste Getho, born in 1972 in Port au Prince.
I grew up in State Store Street near the "Rezistans".
In 2009, I learned sculpture with one of the great Haitian sculptors and founder of Rezistans: Jean Herard Celeur. I have worked a lot with recycled plastic, metal, wood and used dolls. My works are very solid, effective and universal.
In May 2016, Riccardo Angelo encouraged me to enter the world of paintings. I started to sketch my own sculptures on recycled cardboard with colored pencils. Today I work with acrylic or oil paints. With the help of Riccardo Angelo, I see life much more simply than before: it is enough to work with inspiration and without slackening. For me, there is much more to the future in this world than sculpture.
Today, my work is in great demand on the international market. I am a member of the Rezistans, in the second row, I am the most diligent, more versatile than the others. ”
