Biography
Edwin Salomon is an Israeli artist born in 1935 in Romania and died in 2014. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Cluj. In 1965, he completed his university career by integrating the Sorbonne in Paris.
Edwin Salomon's work focuses on the animal kingdom, which allows him to depict human characteristics. Animals are personified, serving to evoke social and political problems with more freedom. The animals of the Middle East are particularly peaceful, constantly exploited to the maximum by this artist with multicultural influences.
Internationally recognized, Edwin Salomon's work is present in numerous private collections in Israel, the United States, Canada, Uruguay, Brazil, Romania, Sweden... His pieces are also part of public collections, such as that at the Museum of Cluj, at the National Museum of Bucharest and at the Presidential Residence in Jerusalem.
