Presentation

Salvatore Emblema is one of the famous historical masters whose painting focued on the space. According to Emblema, the canvas, the jute yarns are already a piece of painting. The colour with its pure condition highlight the texture and the space.

He attended the Liceo Artistico and the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. From a very young age he devoted himself to painting inspired by the nature that surrounds him: he uses, in fact, all natural elements to produce particular colors and atmospheres. In 1982, he took part in the XL Venice Biennale and was also invited to major exhibitions abroad: in New York, the curator of the Metropolitan Museum, Filippo Montebello, acquired five canvases for the collection of the museum. In the same year the Museum Boymans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam exhibited and acquired his works. The artist's research has produced original and brilliant works, exhibited in the major museums all over the world, from the New York's MOMA to the Boymans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, from the Vatican Museums to the Rockefeller Center Museum.
