Alvaro Petritoli

Alvaro Petritoli is an Italian artist born in 1967.

He received his BA (Fine Art) from Central St. Martin's, London, in 2003 and also studied printmaking in London. Prior to this, between 1986 and 1992, he studied Italian language and literature at La Sapienza University in Rome.

In his works, colors and signs are often erased to represent the void where the microcosm becomes the macrocosm and vice versa. To create his miniature image networks, he uses a variety of techniques, such as lamination, different photographic techniques, wax treatment, as well as acrylic, oil, and watercolors.
