Biography

Hitomi Endo is a contemporary Japanese artist born in 1990. After graduating from the Department of Fine Arts at Tokyo Zokei University in 2019, she quickly established herself as one of the most promising figures on the Japanese art scene. Endo's work is a fascinating exploration of inner landscapes, where dreams and the silent pulse of existence intertwine. Each touch of color, each layering of pigment, is a spiritual memory that subtly transports the viewer into a distinct and contemplative space, leaving a profound resonance that lingers long after the gaze has faded. Endo reveres layering. The viewer is not invited to see; they are asked to feel the accumulated strata. Her pictorial style creates an architecture of time; the juxtaposition of layers dissolves logic. It is within this density that the rhythm and echo of an invisible universe are born.
“My canvases reject the mere mimicry of external horizons. They are maps of emotions, topographies of the soul. The landscape is the vector, the humble medium through which the unfathomable depths of my inner being are revealed.”
Hitomi Endo's talent has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards in Japan, solidifying her place among the young guard of contemporary Japanese painting.
