Frank den Os

Netherlands • 1965

Being diurnally encircled by beauty gently illuminates all disparate observations as if they are invariably new, again and again, persistently joining in an adjacent and moving closeness.

Biography

Frank den Os has been a playwright for most of his professional life. A more or less incidental relocation to the solitude of French countryside of Le Berry Magique some years ago offered him a convincing ability to connect with what surrounds and the meaningful omnipresence of nature. This experience sparked an inescapable urge to also document his inner landscapes differently by making a world perceptible that he knew had always been there, but veiled, if only by his ineptitude to identify it in a more efficacious, weighty manner before.

More so than his writings Den Os considers his visual work to contain his personal, empirical response to all that is out there, and thus in there, no matter its insistence, luring, waving, bouncing, exploding but always vibrating on a level of its own.
