Biography
Clemens Briels is a painter born in Netherlands in 1946. At a young age, he developed a passion for painting, but began his career as a designer. It was only at the age of 46 that he decided to devote himself to his passion. He traveled through the world, looking for inspiration. His travels in the Middle East, America and Caribbean have a major impact on his initial work. Clemens Briels is a curious artist, who doesn't restrain himself to painting solely. His research on volume and depth, make him use paper and cardboard to create reliefs on paintings. His universe is colorful and combines exoticism and familiarity on the same image. His work is an invitation to travel and embark on an adventure. In 2002, Clemens Briels was one of the official artists at the Winter Olympic games, in USA.
