Biography

Ọládayọ̀ Thomas is a self-taught visual artist from southwestern Nigeria, currently living in Berlin. His work fuses African heritage with contemporary influences, exploring identity, culture, memory, spirituality, and transformation.
Drawing on Yoruba cosmologies, the traditional spiritual and philosophical worldview of the Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria, centered on ancestry, nature, and unseen spiritual forces. He uses symbolic visual language alongside modern aesthetics to reflect personal and collective narratives. Working in painting and mixed media, he creates dynamic works that move between the seen and unseen, offering reflections on resistance, vulnerability, and change.
Through bold colors, intricate textures, and dynamic forms, Ọládayọ̀ brings stories of his roots and personal journey to life on canvas. His work creates a dialogue between what is seen and unseen, offering reflections on the layered realities of contemporary life and the diverse vibrant world we live in today.
