Torn between Portugal his homeland, and Catalonia his host country, Rui Gomes has been part of the artistic world sine 2001.
That bipolarity can be seen in his works, organized as series. Always positive, this artist uses his art to speak about his experiences but also his doubts and questions. He diverts his images through humor to make the spectator laugh, or at least smile.
Stories is a part of his work but it doesn't dominate his art. He's also very attached to the New Figuration's power of narration, and highlights this in his paintings.
