Biography
Daniel Spoerri was born in Romania and grew up in Switzerland, where he met Jean Tinguely, and became a dancer at the Bern Opera from 1954 to 1957. He devotes himself to stage direction and stage decor.
Arrived in Paris in 1959, Daniel Spoerri creates "trap paintings": he sticks everyday objects collected in his hotel room on boards. He then joined the group of new realists.
Daniel Spoerri reveals the beauty of objects and assembles pieces that could have a common past. Their assembly seems like a small operation, but therein lies all the art. First the research, then the sorting of the found objects that have a common history and finally the assembly of the parts in the most successful way.
