Pavel Pepperstein

Pavel Pepperstein is a Russian artist and writer, born in Moscow in 1966 and living in Israel.

Biography

Pavel Pepperstein specialized at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague between 1985 and 1987. He works primarily in watercolor. In 1987, Pepperstein, along with Sergei Anufriev and Yuri Leiderman, founded the group "Medical Hermeneutics Inspection (HM)." He began exhibiting in 1990 at the Krings-Ernst Gallery (Cologne) in an exhibition entitled "The Military Life of Small Paintings." He recently exhibited at the 2009 Venice Biennale. Pepperstein depicts utopian worlds within vast landscapes in a dreamlike universe inspired by constructivism.
