David Martinez

I acquired my artistic skills in a self-taught way. I had my card contact with painting through my father, whose artistic work has marked since childhood and accompany me to this day.

I try to avoid excessively rhetorical or philosophical points of view and thus be able to look spontaneously the concrete world from which my inspiration comes.

My expression is born from the observation of my immediate surroundings: an old tree along away, the decoration in a shop window, a shadow, a memory of the past... That leads me to investigate a plurality of forms, techniques, materials and motifs, which constitute the pillars of my work, with which I seek to pursue the moment, the here and the now, and explore what I want to capture in each moment.
