Verena Waddell

Born in 1965, Verena Waddell is a Swedish artist. She lives and works in Sandefjord, Norway.

Verena Waddell studied art at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver before getting trained for a year in a Canadian artist's studio. Eventually the artist settled down in Norway and worked in the private sector. She left her job in 2007 and dedicated herself to art. She teaches art at Sandefjord Kulturskole.

Verena Waddell works with goldsmith and designer objects with Sophia Brand, the artist. Waddell's personal creations are mostly originals although lately, she created engravings and aquatints in 6 copies for prestigious studios in Barcelona.

Her painting is formal, intellectual and intuitive. Still as figurative figurative as ever, she creates fantastic figures with harmonious colors and forms. A type of a dream were strength, beauty and fragility rub shoulders.

Verena Waddell's work has been exhibited in several Scandinavian galleries.
