Caisa Sandgren

“The room is direct access to everyone's intimate space where our dreams, memories and fears are revealed. She was a way for me to explore these topics from different angles and to deal with them from a personal point of view.

These are, in the series presented here, spaces in which I have lived before. I use it as inspiration to tackle themes such as loneliness, the passage of time and mortality. In a way, I rework the ghosts that hang out in the memory of these places.

On the other hand, an important subject is the receptacle which contains all these memories and these fears, ie our body. Our emotions are attached to the organic fabric of our being and I use this idea of emotional flesh for my more recent creations.

Many of the questions I ask myself through artistic work concern the idea of the intimacy of a body in its space. "

Born in 1994, Caisa Sandgren is an artist of Swedish origin living in Paris. She has been studying for five years at EnsBA Paris in the studio of Dominique Gauthier, in which she will present her graduation diploma this year.
