Yo Xarek WOLTER

It is in Switzerland, in Lausanne in 1982, on the quays of Ouchy where he executed with chalk on the ground esoteric allegories of respectable dimensions that Yo-Xarek Wolter learns to define his style with a surrealist tendency. He turned professional in 1997 and exhibited everywhere in Switzerland (Geneva, Zurich, Bern, Basel, Lausanne, Montreux, Martigny) and in the surrounding countries (Germany, Austria and France) in galleries and major artistic events. Yo Xarek WOLTER is a very active artist on the Vaud Riviera and beyond. His commitment to the Association Romande pour la Valorisation des Arts (ARVA) of which he is one of the founder and the current president is concrete proof of this. He is also a member of the European Academy of Arts (AEA) and of the Parisian Academy of Arts-Sciences-Lettres, as well as the International Academy of Lutetia. The year 2003 will see little by little surrealism give way to abstraction and it will be his friendship with the Swiss painter Ernst FUCHS that will make him take the plunge. On the advice of the latter, he does not hesitate to take risks and finally dares to show the public another of the many facets of his art. The works presented are a mixture of different materials to which he integrates CDs, whole or broken, arranged in such a way that with adequate lighting the effect is striking. CD-Art was born. The same year he exhibited for the first time in Paris, at the ART & MISS Gallery. Currently the abstract compositions are his preference, however Yo willingly returns to the surrealist style during artistic events where it is a question of proving his talent in front of an audience for a day. He does not hesitate to combine the two techniques, oil, acrylic and CD-Art, constantly discovering new possibilities.
