Kurt Josef Haas started painting at 40. Perfectly self-taught, his first works are abstract and geometric. They are made on paper and colored pencils that he borrows from his daughters. In 1983, as he likes to say himself, "he has freedom in his head". This freedom-loving poet will then begin a most original creation, in small formats, on recycled paper, with ballpoint pen, colored pencils, watercolor, representing an imaginary world teeming with animals, heads, monsters, marvelous landscapes...
