Ukraine

Contemporary ceramic studio creating handcrafted sculptural pieces that blend organic textures, natural materials and expressive contemporary design.

Biography

SaGa Pottery is a contemporary Ukrainian ceramic studio founded by artists Oleksandr Barabanov and Halyna Kanyuka. Combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary artistic sensibilities, the duo creates unique handcrafted ceramic works distinguished by their organic forms, textured surfaces and expressive glazing techniques.

Working primarily with natural clay and high-temperature firing methods, SaGa Pottery explores the balance between functionality and sculptural expression. Their creations are inspired by nature, raw materials and the imperfect beauty of handmade objects, resulting in pieces that evoke calmness, authenticity and timeless elegance.

Each artwork is individually shaped and glazed by hand, ensuring that every piece is entirely unique. Their signature aesthetic combines deep earthy tones, dramatic textures and fluid glaze effects that recall natural landscapes and geological formations.

Internationally appreciated for their refined craftsmanship and artistic identity, SaGa Pottery's ceramic works are sought after by collectors, interior designers and lovers of contemporary ceramic art. Their creations embody the intersection of functional design, sculpture and contemporary decorative art.
