Biography

Gloria Gene works mainly in acrylic although she does a select number of oil paintings every year. Her work varies in subject but the identifiable characteristics is the texture, this is done with texture medium as well as pallet knife which gives her the free hand and gives each painting its own particular spirit.

As a survivor of a near death experience Gloria knows about scars. We all have them she says and if we take a breath and look we will find beauty and lessons in the defects. That is what the texture represents for her, she paints with brushes pallet knife and has been known to use her fingers and chopsticks in the creative process.
