Biography

In 2012, Alex Prager launched the series "Compulsion," exploring the perception of tragedy. Each work juxtaposes a realistic image of a dramatic event (accident, fire, crash) with a close-up of an eye expressing intense emotion. Inspired by the films of Douglas Sirk and the photographs of Enrique Metinides, Alex plays on confusion, leaving viewers to interpret the origin of the emotions. This ambiguity raises questions about the reality of images and the reactions they elicit. Winner of the Paul Huf Award at the FOAM Museum, she accompanies her exhibitions with a short film entitled "La Petite Mort" (The Little Death), extending her artistic exploration.
