Katrin Karn

United States • 1981

For me, the energies of sound, word, color, and form are inseparable. Each work is born at the intersection of these artistic languages.

Biography

Katrin Karn is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, poet, and singer. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions in Vladivostok and international group exhibitions in Russia, China, Mexico, Cambodia, and Nepal. Her recent solo exhibitions include In the Embrace of Spring at the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2026), Colors of Summer at the Seven Hills pavilion supported by Far Eastern Federal University (2025), and Spring Drops Have Begun… at the Dostoyanie International Museum and Exhibition Complex (2025). She is also a laureate of international painting and vocal competitions and has published three books.

Katrin Karn approaches art as a synesthetic experience in which painting, poetry, and music are interconnected. Her series Awakening explores creative energy and spiritual growth, while Poetry and Painting translates her own poetry into visual form.

Working through color, rhythm, form, and expressive energy, Karn considers how sound, poetic cadence, and the psychology of color can affect emotional perception. Rather than treating painting as an isolated medium, she creates works as intersections of different artistic languages—spaces for reflection on inner light, love, transformation, and personal purpose.
