Daniel Rothbart, for his seventh solo exhibition at the Galerie Depardieu, exhibits his latest works under the title “Semiotic Street Situations”. These are digital collages.
In parallel to the exhibition, presentation of the book by Daniel Rothbart "Seeing Naples: Reports from the Shadow of Vesuvius" on Friday May 10 at 3 pm at the Auditorium Albert Camus, Louis Nucéra, Nice.

Born in 1966 in Stanford, California (United States). Daniel Rothbart is an artist and writer based in Brooklyn, New York, his work is defined by the exploration of the relationships between nature, identity and the metaphysics of post-modern urbanism.
He is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and Columbia University.
Author of three books: “Jewish Metaphysics as Generative Principle in American Art” (1994) which deals with the relationship between Jewish culture and post-war American abstraction.
"The Story of the Phoenix" (1999), which examines American cultural identity including Hollywood using the
transmutations of meaning (meaning) through his digital photo-montage work and his sculptures.
In 2015, Daniel Rothbart wrote an essay and four reviews on the theme of water, based on his artistic performance, as the common thread of PAJ III, published by MIT Press.
The latest, published in 2018 by Edgewise Press, Seeing Naples: Reports from the Shadow of Vesuvius is a travel book inspired by his experiences as a researcher with the Fulbright program in Naples in the early 1990s.

He was awarded and received a grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts and was in artist residency at La Napoule Art Foundation in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, France, in 2002. His work is the subject of a monograph by Enrico Pedrini published in 2010 by Ulisse e Calipso of Naples, Italy.
