Biography
The obsession with pure vision is a domain and a passion that governs the entire plastic production of Francisco Salazar, a Venezuelan who has lived in Paris for several decades. His pictorial path has not changed despite the mark of time: he repeatedly uses a white area, stripped down, subtle, restless, almost in relief. In cardboard or canvas, this plane is altered, either by a discreet, emotional, enveloping and each time more significant movement, or by the displacement of light and geometric forms; ideas of lines, of short squares, in rhythmic and serial progression, oriented indiscriminately in one direction or another. Thus, the artist generates meanings that highlight the plastic values that he synthesizes from supremacist and minimalist sources.
