From African roots to global voices — a dialogue in color and form.

Biography

Flatter Zenda is a Zimbabwean-born multidisciplinary artist whose work explores memory, identity, and cultural dialogue. Raised by a strong single mother who nurtured him and his siblings with courage and love, Zenda's first steps into art camethrough poetry. At a young age, his mother wrote poems for him to recite at schools and community gatherings, planting the seed of self-expression and giving himthe confidence to use his voice. These formative experiences continue to shape his artisticvision today. His earliest inspirations in painting came from time spent at his grandparents' farmin Somabula, where the rhythms of nature, the vibrancy of wildlife, and the mysteryof night hunts left lasting impressions. These encounters with the natural world sparked his imagination and led him to transfer his experiences onto canvas. Zenda's career began with wildlife paintings and his first sales at Antelope Park inZimbabwe. Later, in South Africa, he persevered through challenges while showingwork at the Rosebank Market in Johannesburg and selling directly to collectors. Over the years, his painting style, vision, and creativity have matured, becoming moreexpressive and deeply personal. Today, under his painting brand FZenart, his works blend the spirit of his African roots with the cultural influences of Europe. He has exhibited internationally in Germany, Denmark, London, and other European cities. Now based in Hamburg, Germany, Zenda not only paints but alsoshares his passion through workshops in schools and communities, helping youngpeople identify their path and purpose in life through creativity. Alongside this, he continues to expand his practice with his clothing line Culture OG, as well as cultural events and music projects. Across all of his work, his belief in creativity as a universal bridge remains central —connecting people, generations, and cultures.
