Description
This work, made by the artist in a self-tucked technique, represents a bold and modern expression of the graffiti style, captivating with its striking use of simplified shapes and bright colours.
The main motif, a voluptuous black figure, is beautifully contrasted and accentuated by a bright yellow outline. This juxtaposition of black and yellow creates a striking visual effect, immediately drawing the viewer's eye. The composition highlights a stylized, almost abstract form, reminiscent of the rounded, swollen letters of traditional graffiti.
The fluid contours and soft lines give the work a dynamic and energetic dimension. The deep black shades used emphasize the density and solidity of the pattern, while the bright yellow border illuminates the whole, perhaps symbolizing light in the darkness or a burst of inspiration. This artistic rug, combining functionality and aesthetics, is not only a decorative piece but also a testimony to contemporary urban culture. It evokes a boldness and freedom of expression, characteristic of the street art artistic milieu.
This work thus invites reflection on the interaction between art and everyday space, transforming the ground into a vibrant and modern canvas. The originality of this piece lies in its ability to transpose an ephemeral and often marginalized art onto a tangible and lasting medium.
It is a true celebration of street art, reinvented with a sophistication that makes it suitable for diverse contexts, from galleries to personal living spaces.
Presentation
The Pulse tag first appeared on a winter evening in 1996. Faced with the rapid proliferation, the pseudonym found in haste will remain as a second identity, a character in its own right. Co-founder of the Parisian graffiti group XIT, his work has been visible to all for over 20 years now. And in parallel with his wild and frenetic practice, he has more recently begun a pictorial research work on canvas. The interpretation of spontaneous gestures, its recurring forms and color in an urban environment constitute the vocabulary that he brings back to the intimacy of the canvas with a view to sustainability.
Since 2021, Puls has been developing on canvas and in the street a style that evokes the Geometric Abstraction of the 70s, gradually making the overly obvious name of graffiti disappear in favor of shapes and colors with pure balance.
